The Spirit of Enniskillen Trust is seeking applications for its ‘Explore 2012’ leadership programme from young people between the ages of 16 to 19 and resident in Northern Ireland.  The final closing date for applications is Friday 13th January 2012.

Through the Explore 2012 programme forty young participants will travel to overseas projects in four different destinations across Europe where they will work alongside others coming from diverse and conflicting backgrounds. As well as learning through the discussion of difficult issues that divide communities, the work is balanced with enjoyment, social activities and fun. In exploring how these regions are dealing with their differences, participants will also be encouraged to develop the skills necessary to lead dialogue and learning within their own communities at home.  Explore is fully accredited through the Open College Network NI.

This programme is an excellent and well respected opportunity for young people to learn more about themselves and others and to broaden their horizons on life generally. To maintain a balance from across the community, the SOE will particularly welcome applications of those coming from marginalised and disadvantaged backgrounds.
