St Columb’s College is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.
We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.
This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML, XHTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers as of Sept 2011 and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly. Accessibility may be restricted with older browsers (IE6), and if this is the fact, a link will be displayed upon visiting the site, with a re-direct to download a newer more accessible browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.
Our website works on a range of different screen sizes, and you can change the size of text to make it easier to read, increase or decrease text size by clicking on the 'Text Size' at the left hand side of the screen.
If you find the text on this site is too small, you can change it easily in your browser settings. To do this you should simply adjust your browser's settings by going to the Tools menu, selecting 'text size', 'text zoom' or 'zoom' and increasing the size of the text.
If you use Mozilla Firefox, scroll the net bar to increase/decrease the text size.
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to the View menu, select Text Size and then either Larger or Largest.
This website also has the ability to change the language of all text on screen. Simply click 'Choose Language' from the drop down bar at the left hand side.
Some documents on this website are in PDF (Portable Document Format). To read them you will require Adobe Acrobat viewer which can be downloaded from www.adobe.com. If you need further information about Adobe accessibility, visit access.adobe.com.
Whilst St Columb’s College strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.
